I have filed my posts under the following categories. I hope these brief descriptions will encourage you to read more. Some of my posts appear in more than one category.
Among the Nations — Psalm 96:3 says, “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”I have had the privilege of traveling to twenty-six countries around the world to declare His glory and marvelous deeds. My reflections on my experiences among all peoples are archived under this heading. As time permits, I will continue to add reflections on more of my pre-blogging trips.
Apologetics — The term “apologetics” comes from the Greek word “apologia” which means to speak in defense. Christian apologetics is concerned with the presentation of a rational basis for the Christian faith, defending the faith against objections, and exposing the perceived flaws of other world views. Although the aim of my blog is not apologetics, I will from time to time post related thoughts in this category.
Bible Study — Miscellaneous devotional and exegetical Bible study notes.
Biographies — Brief biographies of some of my favorite people, including historical mentors.

Global Glimpses — Brief reflections by Kingsland volunteers who have served from our community to the ends of the earth.
Home and Family— I will continue to add posts that are relevant to moms and dads and family life. Parents should teach their children to love God, set an example of living adventurously for God, and leave a lasting legacy that honors God.
Interviews — I enjoy meeting and getting to know interesting people as I travel around the world. This category features personal interviews with some of these people.
Justice — God is concerned about weak and vulnerable people who have suffered the loss of much at the hands of those stronger than them. Christians must share God’s concern for justice and heed the words of Proverbs 31:8-9 — “Open your mouth for the dumb, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.”
Kids on Mission — God can and is using kids to make a difference in our world. This category features stories about kids who are learning to serve and who are doing practical things to help change the world.
Legal Pad Archive — Long before I owned a computer, in those dark days before the internet and blogs, I posted my thoughts on a yellow legal pad with a ball-point pen. From time to time, I will resurrect some of my devotional musings from those ancient days and give them new life in cyberspace.
Living with … — These devotional thoughts explore some of the more practical challenges of daily living as well as the things that should characterize those seeking to live adventurously for God.
Local Missions Initiatives — These posts are about some of the experiences from our many local missions initiatives in urban and suburban settings.
Missions Musings — The posts in this category are my musings about sharing (proclamation) and showing (incarnation) God’s love to others from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. I hope these thoughts will help you to think about how God can use you to advance His purposes in the world today by loving Him and loving people.

Personal Growth — With the New Year (2009) approaching, I decided to do a series of posts on practical ideas for growth in your personal life. These ideas are grouped under the following topics: sharpen your mind, soften your heart, strengthen your hands, stretch your horizon, and simplify your life.
Reflections on Jesus — I love Jesus. His life and teachings encourage, inspire, and challenge me. Although Christ-followers today do not always act in ways consistent with what He taught, the fault is ours and not His. The posts in this category offer glimpses of my journey with Him and how He influences me.
Texas Water Safari — The annual Texas Water Safari is billed as the world’s toughest canoe race. Starting in the college town of San Marcos, the race follows a 260-mile route down the San Marcos and Guadalupe Rivers all the way to the coastal community of Seadrift. Contestants must complete the race in 100-hours or less.
Women on Mission — Stories of how God is using women to make a difference in our world today.
Wordless Wednesday — This is not an original idea but instead one that I gleaned from a favorite blog. On selected Wednesdays, I will post a single photo from among the thousands I have taken on my travels. No commentary — just a photo. I hope you enjoy.
